Malam Gema Merdeka (MGM) is an annual event that serves to reflect on the journey of Malaysia as an independent nation and all the trials and tribulations that comes with its fight for independence. The year 2007 brings the celebration to another level where it marks our 50 years of nationhood, hence the Golden Jubilee celebration.

This year, we have chosen the theme "Fifty Blessings: Celebrating 50 Years of Nationhood"

It will be a night of celebration which will kickstart with a buffet-style dinner featuring delicious Malaysian cuisine served to welcome the guests to a truly Malaysian experience. Following right after is a musical sketch entitled "Fifty Blessings" which will surely titillate the audience with its storyline, correlating to the night's theme of love for the country. Be prepared to be captivated in awe as we bring to you a night of celebration and extravagant entertainment.

Malam Gema Merdeka is jointly organized by Malaysian Students' Council of Australia (MASCA) New South Wales and KELAB UMNO New South Wales, along with MASCA NSW affiliated clubs; SUAMS, MSO, MASA, MSA, MAS, MYSUN, PPMS, MHRC and SYDNEY PETRONAS CLUB.
